Meet our Staff New

Pain & Movement Solutions is a therapist-owned outpatient physical therapy clinic. We are a group of mindful practitioners dedicated to empowering our patients with the skills they need to live a healthy lifestyle. We aim to be a natural solution to health concerns for both individuals and businesses throughout the Northern Hills, providing physical therapy from infancy to the golden years.

We are dedicated to delivering physical therapy to its fullest potential to provide the community with a first-choice, trusted healthcare facility to find solutions to all their pain and movement problems. Our customers know they will not only receive quality care with the highest level of professionalism, but they will also be treated like good friends and valued like family.

Dr. Julie Wingen

Dr. Julie Wingen PT, DPT - Owner

Dr. Julie opened the clinic in 2012 dedicated to delivering physical therapy to its fullest potential to provide the community with a first-choice, trusted healthcare facility to find solutions to your movement or pain problems.

Julie graduated from South Dakota State University with a B.S. in Biology and from the University of South Dakota’s Graduate Physical Therapy program with a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree. Julie has focused her career in general outpatient orthopedics and most enjoys treating spine disorders, musculoskeletal injuries, prenatal and post partum issues, neurological disorders and pediatrics.  She is also certified in Level 1 Functional Dry Needling.

Dr. Julie was chosen as 2019 South Dakota PT of the Year for her contributions to the profession.

Outside of work, Julie is part of the Reimbursement Committee Chair for the South Dakota Physical Therapy Association, a Board Member for the Belle Fourche Economic Development Corporation and is active in the American Heart Association and her church.  She enjoys spending her free time with her family enjoying the outdoors by camping, backpacking, snowboarding, and playing softball and golf.

Dr. Cailey Iverson

Dr. Cailey Iverson DPT

Dr. Cailey is originally from Freeman, South Dakota. She attended Black Hills State University for her undergraduate degree, where she received her B.S. in Exercise Science while participating in both cross country and track. She went on to attain her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of South Dakota. While at the University of South Dakota, she gained experience while working with individuals with musculoskeletal injuries, vestibular and neurological conditions, pelvic floor dysfunction, and pediatrics. Dr. Cailey has spent time researching optimal workload ratios for distance runners and has a particular interest in orthopedic and neurological rehab.

Dr. Cailey is excited to bring her skill set to the area, as she is passionate about teaching individuals correct movement strategies to help improve their quality of life. In addition, Dr. Cailey loves working with each individual to help establish their personal goals to reach their highest potential. She enjoys the outdoors in her free time, whether it be running, horseback riding, or attempting her hand at golf.

Dr. Avery Allen

Dr. Avery Allen PT, DPT

Dr. Avery received her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology & Exercise Science from Black Hills State University in 2016, and graduated from the University of South Dakota with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2020. Dr. Avery was involved in collegiate sports as a former athlete and continues to have a passion for health and fitness. She is Level 1 Functional Dry Needling Certified and utilizes her techniques to treat patients across the lifespan with a variety of conditions including musculoskeletal, neurological and chronic pain.

Dr. Avery is a native of Casper, WY, but has called the Black Hills home since 2012. She is excited to continue growing her professional career with Pain & Movement Solutions. Her favorite part about her job is developing relationships with her patients, contributing to her community and promoting physical therapy for all age ranges to reduce pain and improve function. In her free time, she loves to exercise, hike with her dogs, ride motorcycles and work on cars, as well as spend time with her friends and family.

Dr. Jamie Schweiss

Dr. Jamie Schweiss PT, DPT

Dr. Jamie attended South Dakota State University and obtained a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Exercise Science. Also, during her time at South Dakota State University, she became a Certified Exercise Physiologist through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM-EP). She then went on to attend the University of South Dakota where she obtained a Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree.

While at the University of South Dakota, her fascination with the nervous system and its profound impact on human mobility drove her to pursue a career in neurologic physical therapy. She believes that understanding and harnessing the power of neurorehabilitation can truly transform lives.

As a student, she was selected for clinical rotations at leading rehabilitation hospitals for neurologic injuries and diseases in the Midwest including Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital in Lincoln, NE and Avera in Sioux Falls. While training under leading neurologic experts, she was able to implement principles of neuroplasticity and utilize innovative techniques and technology. These experiences allowed her to encounter the intricacies in treating conditions such as TBI, CVA, Parkinson’s, MS, SCIs, in addition to acute and chronic dizziness.

In the realm of physical therapy, the specialization in neurologic conditions demands a unique blend of knowledge, skill, and empathy. Driven by her passion, Dr. Jamie pursued rigorous academic training, earning advanced degrees in physical therapy with a focus on neurology. Her clinical experiences in clinics and hospitals have shaped her clinical expertise and patient-centered approach. She is grateful to be practicing in the Northern Hills and as an advocate for neurorehabilitation, she looks forward to connecting with patients who have neurologic conditions.

Sydney Whitmarsh

Sydney Whitmarsh PTA

Sydney attended Northeast Community College in Norfolk, NE to obtain her Associates of Applied Science as a Physical Therapist Assistant while also competing in volleyball. After graduating she went on to work in skilled nursing facilities in the Midwest that focused on geriatric rehab, orthopedics, and neurological conditions. She also completed several years of traveling therapy that took her across the U.S. enhancing her skills with a large spectrum of environments and clients. Sydney has spent the past several months working with pediatrics in the Rapid City and Spearfish area.

Sydney is most looking forward to working with all athletes as she is an avid rock climber, mountain biker, hiker, and snowboarder. She enjoys also weight lifting and playing in recreational sports leagues. Sydney believes strongly that movement is medicine no matter your age and is excited to give back to the community.

Amanda Coleman

Amanda Coleman Patient Care Coordinator

Amanda is the cheerful voice on the phone when you give our office a call and the friendly face you see when walking into the clinic.  She’ll be happy to help you successfully schedule your treatments and ensure your time spent with Pain & Movement Solutions is comfortable and flawless.

Amanda was born in small town Ekalaka, Montana and split her time living in Ekalaka, Gillette Wyoming and Belle Fourche.  She returned to Belle Fourche in August of 2021.  Before joining the team,  Amanda was a patient care coordinator in Gillette Wyoming focusing the last 13 years in Behavior Management and Elementary Education.  She is a hard worker who loves learning new things and aims to improve herself every single day.

Amanda has 4 children in which her twins just graduated from Belle Fourche High School this past spring.  In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, attending rodeos, camping and you will see her throughout the community doing volunteer work.

Dr. Cole Staigle

Dr. Cole Staigle PT, DPT - Clinic Director

Dr. Cole attained his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Jamestown in North Dakota. He likes to label himself as a “movement optimist” and believes any movement is a good movement with the right focus and proper form. Dr. Cole prides himself on treating from a holistic perspective, using all aspects of a patient’s life to guide the clinical decisions made to help that individual meet their health and movement goals.

Dr. Cole is eager to bring his skill set to the area to help individuals across the lifespan. He is skilled in treating individuals of all age ranges and has taken over the aquatic therapy program at Pain & Movement Solutions. Dr. Cole was highly involved in collegiate sports and has a strong passion for health and fitness. He has a special interest in Sports Physical Therapy and treating neck and back pain. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and dog, hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, skiing, mountain biking, and strength training.

Ariah Engel

Ariah Engel Patient Care Coordinator

Ariah grew up on a ranch near Faith, SD where she was a three-sport athlete throughout high school until graduation.  She went on to college and obtained her Associate’s of Applied Sciences in May of 2023. In her free time, she enjoys sports, staying active, exploring the outdoors, hunting, traveling, and life on the ranch.

Dr. Macie Harris

Dr. Macie Harris PT, DPT - Clinic Director

Dr. Macie received her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology & Exercise Science from the University of South Dakota in 2016, and graduated from the University of South Dakota with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2020. She is LSVT BIG certified and specializes in working with patients who have Parkinson’s Disease, but thoroughly enjoys the variety that outpatient physical therapy provides.

Dr. Macie is a native of Mitchell, SD, but has called Rapid City home since 2019. She is excited to continue growing her professional career with Pain & Movement Solutions. Her favorite part about her job is getting to know her patients and creating relationships with them that last long after their plan of care ends. Dr. Macie is truly invested in improving the quality of life for every one of her patients. As an avid people-person, in her free time she loves playing flag football, softball, basketball, hiking in the hills, and spending time with family and friends.

Dr. Lindsey Kozel

Dr. Lindsey Kozel PT, DPT

Dr. Lindsey is originally from Pierre, SD and moved to the Rapid City area following completion of her education. She graduated from South Dakota State University with a B.S. in Health Promotion, then went on to receive her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from the University of South Dakota in 2012.

Since 2012 Dr. Lindsey has enjoyed seeing patients across the lifespan.  She has a special interest in musculoskeletal injuries, neurological conditions, joint replacements and vestibular disorders. She is certified with the American Institute of Balance for Vestibular Rehab and Concussion Treatment. Outside of work, Dr. Lindsey likes to travel and enjoys spending time outdoors, whether it be hiking, paddle boarding or riding ATVs.

Dr. Kendra Webster

Dr. Kendra Webster PT, DPT

Dr. Kendra graduated from Chadron State College with an undergraduate degree in Human Biology, and from the University of South Dakota with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. She has enjoyed treating patients across the life spectrum since 2014. She enjoys all aspects of general outpatient orthopedics, though feels she thrives with post-surgical rehabilitation.

Dr. Kendra is certified in Myofascial Cupping and Compression Band Flossing. She is excited to continue serving her hometown of Rapid City as a movement specialist. Outside of work, Kendra spends time with her family enjoying the outdoors, hiking, gardening, and traveling

Kimberly Van Loan

Kimberly Van Loan MS OTR/L, CLT, ASTYM Certified

Kimberly obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from Black Hills State University in 2003, and earned her Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of South Dakota in 2007. She is currently licensed as an Occupational Therapist (OT) in the state of South Dakota and is an active member of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), as well as the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).

Kimberly brings a unique perspective to our team, as she is our only occupational therapist, and is also a Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT). She specializes in breast cancer rehabilitation, upper extremity orthopedic injuries and Kinesiotaping. Prior to becoming an OT, Kimberly was a physical education teacher. In her free time, she enjoys reading, being outdoors with her family, and cheering on her kids in their activities.
